My special Christmas torture ;)

So...I'm known around work as the one who likes to surround her work environment and employees with Christmas-y stuff (Christmas scented candles burning, Christmas music playing, silly decorations etc...).

But the kicker is my love for Christmas movies. Sure sure, I enjoy all the real big Christmas movies that play at the theatre (such as Elf - my absolute favorite), but my employees most certainly roll their eyes when I pull out my stash.

You see, I have one male employee in particular who is a kick! He's game for anything, but at the same time, trying to remain "cool" and aloof, ya know. So imagine his slight annoyance at my insistence to start the Christmas movie watching season (he's heard about it all year).

Imagine his dismay (and immediate groan) when he realized that my movies consisted of ABC Family, Hallmark Channel, and Lifetime movies too! HA!!

They are such good sports :)

I admit, I did feel the need to promise to intersperse my "Christmas made for TV" marathon with Vince Vaughn type Christmas movies.

Loved the book "The Host"

I was discussing "The Host" with my friend Toni today, who admitted to me that she couldn't get past the beginning. That is the third person I have heard from (apart from me) that has mentioned that. It's so true, BUT, again, do not let that keep you from the book.

I want to thank ALL of the girls, over Thanksgiving, who sent me a note encouraging me to read it (and warning me about the slow beginning). If it wasn't for their glowing recommendations, I would have probably set it aside shortly into it. But I knew to persevere...

Toni is great because she indulges my need to discuss "spoilers"! I don't dare do it on my book blog, since I hate having an ending divulged before I get to it myself (so I'm sure many of my readers would be peeved), but some people (like Toni, and even my husband for that matter) don't seem to mind at all.

So I let loose, (during work time - my bad!) and described the ENTIRE book to her. Of course, my description of events does not do the "feel" of the book any justice, but I'm happy to hear that it was enough to convince her to read it.

Note to Toni (Read it next so we can discuss it some more!)
